Star Wars Bookends

 |  by LunchBox  |  Home, LifeStyle, Movies

Although Star Wars Celebration has come and gone, the past month has been filled with a plethora of SW related merchandise. So much so that I’ve had to restrict the content on here so as not to appear as strictly a Star Wars themed product blog. One item that is worth mentioning are these bookends. Fashioned in the iconic SW logo, you can use them as bookends or to proudly display your dvd collection. $55 and available at Big Bad Toy store.

New Return of the Jedi Lightsaber scene

 |  by LunchBox  |  Entertainment, Movies

So this past week hundreds of Star Wars afficionados gathered in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center for Star Wars Celebration V. It’s pretty much like Comic Con except it’s all about Star Wars. Like the Con there are various activities that take place throughtout the 3 day event and one of them this yeard had George Lucas breaking out of the Skywalker vault a never before scene clip from Return of the Jedi. Safe to say it’s nothing short of awesomeness.

New TRON Legacy Trailer.

 |  by LunchBox  |  Entertainment, Movies

If you’re like me and consider yourself a kid of the 80’s, there are some things that are very memorable from that era. Transformers and GI Joe to Knight Rider and the A-Team. the 80’s gave us so many amazing toys, television and movies that looking back it’s hard to think we’ve yet to capture that essence again. Some of the movies we all have burned in our minds and hearts of that time include The Goonies, The Karate Kid, Top Gun, Empire Strikes Back, etc., etc. One of the pinnacle movies of the early 80’s blew away us all away with stunning visuals and cool motorcycles. While the Star Wars and Star Trek franchise were taking us to galaxies and worlds far, far away, one movie took us to a whole new world right at our own desk. That movie of course was TRON. Boasting some of the most advanced special effects of the time, TRON gave us a far away digital world that was right there at our fingertips. Coming at a time when “super computers” filled up rooms the size of most of our houses, TRON pioneered in a sense the digital revolution. Almost 30 years later, Disney is set to once again take us to that digital world and blow our minds away. Definitely one of the most anticipated movies of this year, I give you now the newest trailer for the much awaited TRON sequel, TRON Legacy. Opening everywhere in IMAX and Disney 3D December 17, 2010.

Freddy’s back.

 |  by LunchBox  |  Entertainment, Movies

In another run of Hollywood horror “re-imaginings” looks like it’s Freddy’s turn. Produced by Michael Bay, who rebooted Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, Freddy Krueger has been resurrrected to terrorize a new generation of teenagers in their dreams. Starring Jackie Earl Haley in the pivotal role made famous by Robert Englund, the new Nightmare on Elm Street looks like its ready to make us afraid of falling asleep once again. In theatres April 30, 2010.
